His Excellency, Mr Loyola Hearn, The Canadian Ambassador to Ireland, was presented with a painting by Brigid at a recent ceremony in Co Donegal. The painting was presented by Mr Peter McLaughlin, Mayor of Buncrana. Originally from Donegal, Brigid studied Graphic Design at Letterkenny Institute of Technology from 1987 - 1991. Her love of Art took over from Graphic Design & in recent years she has combined a role of mother with creating works of art primarily in acrylic & oils. Brigid’s approach to painting which is first observation based followed in many cases by painting from memory & this allows her the freedom in the application of paints while creating a vibrant energy within the painting.
